Teaching and Advising:
- Developed and taught courses in composition and college writing, research and argumentative writing, genre (the novel, poetry, theatre), critical theory, British literature, the graphic novel, the history of writing as a technology, and disability studies.
- Developed a new minor program in Disability Studies in collaboration with the Healthcare Policy Program, with an emphasis on intersections of disability with gender and race.
- English department taskforce to revise First-Year Writing Program descriptions and SLOs as part of an English department taskforce.
- English department taskforce to revise the historical survey courses and department honors exit exam reading list to broaden the canon and better reflect the needs and interests of our diverse student population. In conjunction with this revision project, the department also added a diversity SLO to the English major.
- Supervised interdisciplinary honors thesis projects and independent study courses on topics including veteran literature; mental illness in video game design; and race, sexuality, and fashion.
- Advised English majors.
- Sponsored and moderated student research presentations at Academic Symposium.
- Ran co-curricular workshops on bookbinding, sewing, mending, and printing in the campus makerspace.
